CHECK THE ARTISTS DETAIL
NYC-based artist CID, née Carlos Cid, is a GRAMMY-winning producer and world-touring DJ
who commands global dance floors with his dynamic sound and riveting DJ sets. Throughout
the years, the prolific artist has evolved his sonic style to encompass everything from after-hours
house weapons and intricate tech house to crossover dance anthems. Now with his recently
launched, independently owned Night Service Only label, CID stands as the curator and
trendsetter of what’s new and next in cutting-edge dance music worldwide.
CID, who got his start as a tastemaker DJ in the NYC club circuit as a teen, is today one of the
most in-demand DJs in the dance music scene. Already, he’s performed high-impact sets at the
world’s leading music festivals and electronic events, including EDC Las Vegas, Tomorrowland,
Bonnaroo, Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) and Miami Music Week (MMW). As a club headliner,
he’s performed at premier nightlife destinations across the globe, including elite venues like
Sound in Los Angeles, Avant Gardner in Brooklyn and Marquee in NYC and Las Vegas. He’s
also delivered high-octane sets at renowned clubbing and nightlife hotspots around the world,
including Hï Ibiza, Circus in Tokyo and Opium Barcelona. Most recently, CID headlined a
29-date world tour in summer 2019, which took him to top international venues across Europe,
Asia and North America.
CID first broke into the mainstream in 2013 when he won his first-ever GRAMMY (Best Remixed
Recording, Non-Classical) for his production work on Cedric Gervais’ multiplatinum hit remix of
Lana Del Rey’s “Summertime Sadness.” A major feat for a new artist and his first career
milestone of many to come, the GRAMMY win catapulted CID to the top of the electronic music
space and established the then-newcomer within the larger pop canon.
In December 2013, CID released “Got Me Thinkin’,” a massive crossover house track alongside
regular collaborator Don Diablo. Released on Steve Angello’s X imprint, a sublabel of Size
Records, and premiered on Pete Tong’s Essential Selection radio show on BBC Radio 1, “Got
Me Thinkin’” helped put CID on the worldwide map and shaped his inimitable club-centric
sound. CID and Don Diablo would go on to collaborate on multiple originals and remixes
throughout the years, including “FEVER” (March 2019, HEXAGON) as well as their collaborative
remix of Alex Adair's “Make Me Feel Better” (March 2015, HEXAGON), which topped the
Beatport chart for four weeks.
CID’s breakthrough year came in 2016 following a series of consecutive major collaborations
and original tracks, including “Us,” an electrifying future house joint-single alongside regular
collaborator Kaskade, originally featured on the latter’s 2015 major label debut album,
Automatic . The two linked up again later that year on “ Sweet Memories ,” an “irresistible house
anthem” ( Huffington Post ) that today counts more than 40 million streams on Spotify alone. His
2016 releases also include the solo tracks “Together” (May 2016, Big Beat Records), with
+3.8M Spotify streams, and “No!” (February 2016, Musical Freedom), the latter of which charted
on Billboard ’s Dance Club Songs chart and collectively counts +5.4M Spotify plays with an
additional +1.3M YouTube views for its official music video .
CID’s diverse discography also includes the future-pop single “Secrets” (February 2017, Big
Beat Records, +6.4M/Spotify), featuring Conrad Sewell; the soulful vocal house cut “Believer”
(June 2017, Big Beat Records, +2.9M/Spotify), featuring CeeLo Green; and the future-leaning
“Creepin’” (September 2017, HEXAGON, +8M/Spotify), which features a masterful sample of
the R&B classic “Creep” from TLC. In March 2018, CID released his debut EP, Bad for Me
(HEXAGON), which features the smash single “I Miss You” and collectively counts more than 40
million Spotify streams.
As a remixer, CID has reworked pop hits and future classics from major dance music artists,
indie rock darlings and pop icons, including Halsey, Ellie Goulding x Diplo, Galantis, Chromeo,
Armin van Buuren, Matoma, Oliver Heldens, Miike Snow, A-Trak and countless others. In
February 2019, CID notched his second-ever GRAMMY nomination (Best Remixed Recording)
for his remix of “Audio” from pop supergroup LSD (Labrinth, Sia, Diplo). His first-ever solo
GRAMMY nod, the landmark moment marked a full circle for CID, who launched his career in
the first half of this decade with the same accolade. Most recently, in August 2019, CID released
a house remix of the viral hit “Truth Hurts” from breakout singer/rapper Lizzo.
In June 2019, CID entered the next chapter of his ongoing artistic evolution with the launch of
his own independent label, Night Service Only , in partnership with EDM giant, Spinnin’ Records.
Serving up strictly club-centric music and dance-floor fillers, Night Service Only operates as
CID’s channel for late-night heaters and peak-time anthems, as perfectly captured on the
imprint’s initial releases “Night Service Only” (June 2019) and “Rock the House” (July 2019),
both from CID himself. In conjunction with the label’s launch, CID also hosts and curates his
weekly Night Service Only Radio show , which airs every Tuesday at 5pm PT/8pm ET on the
Diplo’s Revolution channel on SiriusXM. Today, CID’s Night Service Only imprint and brand
serves as “a stepping stone for the next generation of DJs and producers dedicated to giving
club freaks the dark, driving and relentlessly-funky club tracks they crave” ( Billboard ).
CID’s musical journey is today the culmination of an illustrious career years in the making, one
dating back to his childhood days growing up in Queens, NY, where, as an 11-year-old, he
would dig through the crates at his local record shop for hours and play early DJ gigs at his
father’s restaurant. After gaining a reputation as a tastemaker for his impeccable taste and
winning the support of the local DJ scene, CID made the natural progression into music
production, where he’s already left his indelible mark.
With new music on the horizon and his new Night Service Only label in full effect, CID is kicking
off the next era of his always-evolving sound and boundary-pushing artistic vision, one
soundtracked by cutting-edge music and defined by late-night sounds.
